Join S&P Global as Executive Director, External & SEC Reporting, overseeing all external financial reporting for the organization, including SEC filings, consolidated financial statements, and global statutory reporting.
Responsibilities- Serve as the enterprise owner for SEC and external financial reporting across all business units and global locations
- Develop and execute the company’s disclosure strategy, ensuring alignment with executive leadership, Investor Relations, and the Audit Committee
- Provide guidance to the CFO and CAO on emerging regulatory trends, disclosure risks, and impacts on the business
- Oversee the preparation, review and timely filing of Forms 10‑K, 10‑Q, 8‑K, registration statements, and proxy materials
- Direct the development of MD&A footnotes and other narrative disclosures, ensuring clarity, precision, and regulatory compliance
- Oversee XBRL taxonomy and ensure technical compliance with the SEC’s evolving requirements
- Partner with corporate functions to align SEC disclosures with corporate messaging and investor communications
- Act as primary point of contact for external auditors on SEC reporting matters
- Lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements under U.S. GAAP
- Oversee global statutory reporting, ensuring each jurisdiction meets local requirements and audit deadlines
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting to agencies, banks, regulators and other external stakeholders
- Lead the creation of the Annual Report, coordinating across finance, legal and communications teams
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $137,000 to $270,000. Final base salary will be based on geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. The role is eligible for an annual incentive plan and additional S&P Global benefits.
Qualifications- CPA designation;
Master’s degree strongly preferred - 12+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting, including extensive SEC reporting experience
- Prior leadership experience in a large multinational or Fortune 500 organization preferred
- Deep technical expertise in U.S. GAAP, SEC rules, and PCAOB standards
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools, such as MS Office
- Exceptional communication skills, including experience presenting to senior executives and the Audit Committee
- Highly detail-oriented yet able to operate at an enterprise, leadership level
- Proactive, collaborative, and able to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment
