Senior Manufacturing Process & Prototype Design Technician

Join Micro Aire Surgical Instruments, a mid‑size medical device company in Charlottesville, VA, as a hands‑on, solutions‑driven technician. In this role you will lead prototype development, process improvements, and tooling design to help turn product ideas into manufacturable parts.

Location:

Charlottesville, VA | Salary: $75,200.00–$

• Design and fabricate prototypes, tooling, and fixtures using manual and CNC equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and refine manufacturing processes.
• Support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Create and update CAD models and drawings (Solid Works preferred).
• Assist with equipment repair and process documentation.
• Partner with supply chain to support design changes and supplier development.

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in machining, manufacturing, or mechanical/electronics technology.
• 3+ years in a manufacturing environment with CNC and manual machining experience.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM (Solid Works; Feature
  
  CAM preferred).
• Strong skills in process development, fixture design, and blueprint reading.
• Experience with inspection tools and statistical process control (SPC, DOE a plus).
