This role sits at the intersection of hardware integration, software and Dev Ops support, and technical documentation. The Systems Engineer will support deployed vehicles, validate safety-critical systems, support software builds and data pipelines, and develop the procedures and documentation needed to scale vehicle installations reliably.

Responsibilities
  • Support LiDAR and RADAR sensor installation, configuration, firmware management, calibration, diagnostics, and vendor escalation.
  • Own fail-safe testing and produce formal pass/fail QA reports for safety-critical systems.
  • Manage cellular hardware, networking, SIM provisioning, carrier troubleshooting, and RTK/GPS subscriptions.
  • Design and build test fixtures for isolated LiDAR, RADAR, hardware, wiring, and software diagnostics.
  • Create and maintain installation SOPs, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and assembly diagrams.
  • Support new hardware rollouts, including motor and steering systems, remote start and stop systems, and module installation.
  • Execute recurring engineering test cycles and track defects through closure.
  • Manage vehicle data collection and cloud upload workflows.
  • Deploy and update vehicle software, firmware, configurations, and profiles.
Required Experience
  • Hands-on experience with vehicle electrical systems, mobile robotics, automotive systems, or heavy-vehicle hardware integration.
  • Experience installing, calibrating, configuring, or troubleshooting LiDAR and/or RADAR sensors.
  • Experience with motor controllers or actuator systems.
  • Working knowledge of Ethernet, UDP, CAN, Modbus, and USB-based configuration tools.
  • Experience with cellular or networking hardware.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Basic scripting or command-line experience, including shell or Python.
  • A methodical, safety-first approach to troubleshooting.
