Unit Overview: The Neuro Intermediate Care Unit (NIMU) is a 12‑bed unit utilizing critical care and neuroscience principles at the Intermediate level. It treats patients with neuro trauma, hemorrhages, post‑operative spine issues, ENT cancer patients after tumor resection, and other neurological conditions.

• Assist patients with personal care as needed for optimal recovery during hospitalization.
• Performs basic nursing skills as delegated by an RN and in accordance with policy and procedure to promote patient health and wellness.
• Provides a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
• Performs administrative support functions.
• Maintains necessary skills and competencies.
• Other duties may be assigned in addition to the above responsibilities.

• Education:
  
  High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• Experience:
  
  No experience required; relevant experience preferred.
• Licensure:
  Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) certification from the Virginia Board of Nursing.
• AHA Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Frequent bending/stooping; ability to lift/push/pull 20–50 lbs; occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs (Home Health Aide only). Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

Hourly rate: $15.37 – $23.82.
