Successful candidates would be able to demonstrate:
- 5+ years of experience in Oncology Nursing in an inpatient setting
- Leadership experience in Oncology Nursing in an inpatient setting
- ONCC/ONS Oncology certification
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day operations of assigned patient care areas
- Supervising nurses and support staff, including RNs, PCAs, technicians, and clerical staff
- Overseeing scheduling and staffing adjustments based on patient flow
- Forecasting and managing the unit budget, ensuring expenditures are within limits
- Developing programs for quality improvement, process streamlining, and nurse performance enhancement
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements specific to the unit
- Providing high-quality nursing care to patients and families
- Building partnerships with clinicians, physicians, and administrators
- Promoting multidisciplinary teamwork, recruitment, performance management, and staff engagement
- Implementing the UVA shared governance nursing model at the unit level
- Performing other duties as assigned
Position Compensation Range: $ - $ annually
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program;
Master’s degree in a related field within 5 years of hire - At least 3 years of progressive nursing experience in a patient care environment
- For Dialysis Nurse Manager: 12 months of clinical nursing experience and 6 months in dialysis care, and full-time employment at the facility
- Virginia RN license; AHA BLS certification; valid Virginia driver’s license if overseeing multiple locations; specialty certification within 3 years of hire
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position is primarily sedentary, involving extensive use of computers. Occasional travel to meetings or programs may be required.
