Job Details:

• 13-week assignment with varied schedule:
Monday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Wednesday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Thursday-Friday 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM

• General call required: 4-6 call shifts in a 6-week schedule (including two 12-hour weekend call shifts)

• Must be able to scrub and circulate

• Level 1 trauma experience required

• 2 years of OR experience required

• Must have orthopedic scrub and total joint experience

• 50-mile radius rule applies

• Virginia license required (can submit with pending license but must have license in-hand by Wednesday before start date)

• BSN preferred

• Nursys verification required for submittal

• Epic charting system experience required

• Required skills include:
Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, General OR, Hernia repair, Laparoscopic procedures, Specimen handling, Thyroidectomy, Universal Protocol, Whipple procedures

• 40 hours of orientation provided

• Patient ratio of 1:1

• Float within scope of practice required

• Work with patients of all age groups: adolescents, adults, pediatrics, geriatrics

• Up to 40 hours of RTO guaranteed per 13-week contract

• Up to 16 hours of non-billable modules during orientation

This Level 1 Academic Trauma Center operates 34 operating rooms across multiple specialized cores, including cardiac, orthopedic/neuro/spine, ENT/plastics/ophthalmology, pediatrics, general surgery/trauma/transplant, GU/GYN, cardiovascular, and thoracic services. The facility features advanced technology including Xi and SP robots, Mako for total knees, Mazor for spines, lasers, and various specialized surgical equipment. The organization provides comprehensive surgical services including robotics, transplant services, and complex procedures across all major specialties with interdisciplinary support services.
