Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Full-Time Registered Nurse for our Short Stay/ Surgical Observation Unit!

Ideal candidates will have acute care nursing experience within a similar scope of practice.

Shifts Available:

Full Time Day Shift (three 12-hour shifts)
Full Time Night Shift (three 12-hour shifts)

Wendell 2 is an award-winning Surgical Short Stay unit with 24 beds, specializing in women’s health, ortho/spine, general surgery, and bariatrics, with a ratio of 1:5 or 1:6. These are all short stay populations with heavy discharge turnover. If you enjoy a quick pace

Operating primarily on 12-hour shifts with weekend rotations, the team includes Patient Care Technicians covering 8-12 patients, Unit Coordinators, Resource Nurses, and an outstanding Educator with over 20 years of experience. The unit emphasizes comprehensive staff development through a robust orientation program where managers and educators meet biweekly to optimize learning, making it an ideal environment for both experienced nurses and new graduates seeking skill development.

Experience

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
