American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level I or II trauma center experience and a VA or compact RN license.
Details- Work in a Level I/II Trauma Center Emergency Department
- 13-week assignment on night shift (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- 36 or 48 hours per week with weekends required
- Scheduled days will vary based on staffing needs and block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
- Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
- Floating required within scope of practice as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
- Active VA or compact RN license (pending accepted, must be in hand by the Wednesday before start)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC may be pending but required before start)
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- At least 1 year of Level I trauma experience or 2 years of Level II trauma experience, including some pediatric experience
- Epic charting experience required
- BSN preferred
- Nursys verification required
- Provide emergency department nursing care including triage within a Level I/II Trauma Center
- Maximum of 40 hours of RTO approved per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at time of consideration
- Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed to coordinate an appropriate start date
- Specialty-specific orientation modules required, completed during orientation and recorded in Workday
- No radius rule applies to this unit
- Previous UVA Health permanent staff or internal/external travelers require 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return once this limit is reached
