American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III/IV NICU position requiring NRP certification and at least 2 years of recent NICU experience.
Details- Level III/IV Neonatal ICU setting
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:00)
- 13 or 26 week assignment with October start dates
- Scheduling includes 3 weekends per 6-week period
- Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
- Uses Epic charting system
- Floating required within scope of practice as needed
- Active VA or compact RN license (can be pending at submission, must be in hand by the Wednesday before start)
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required (can be pending at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Level III NICU experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- BSN preferred
- Experience with neonatal dosage calculations, ventilator management, and umbilical line care required
- Experience with high frequency ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, and therapeutic hypothermia required
- Experience with IV vasopressors and central/implanted line care required
- Provide comprehensive neonatal critical care including respiratory, cardiovascular, GI, and neurologic support
- Assist with procedures such as lumbar punctures and manage chest tubes and tracheostomy care
- No time off approved around Christmas or during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Maximum of 40 hours of RTO approved per 13-week contract
- No radius restriction applies to this unit
- Previous UVA permanent staff or travelers must have a 1-year separation before returning
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at the facility
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
