American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position requiring Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience, along with a VA or compact RN license.

• Work in a 28-bed Medical ICU spanning two units (MICU3 and MICU4)
• Patient population presents with multi-system failure and co-morbid conditions including sepsis, pneumonia, GI bleed, and organ failure
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Option for 36 or 48 hours per week
• 13-week assignment
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required, with 2 of 3 winter holidays required
• Back-to-back weekends off cannot be approved
• Must adhere to facility float policy within scope of practice

• Active VA or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• CCRN certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Trauma Level I hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Required Epic EMR experience
• BSN preferred
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, arterial line management, central line care, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and CRRT/CVVHD preferred
• Experience with ICP monitoring and hypothermia protocol preferred

• Provide critical care nursing to medically complex ICU patients requiring close monitoring and specialized interventions
• Up to 40 hours of RTO may be approved per 13-week contract, must be disclosed prior to submission
• No radius restriction for this unit
• Previous permanent staff or internal/external travelers must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
• External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days with the facility
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this position due to travel experience requirement
