American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric ICU position requiring PALS certification and prior PICU experience with a VA or compact RN license.

• Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• 52-week assignment with 36 or 48 hours per week
• 3 weekends required per six-week schedule
• Every other holiday required, including 2 of the 3 winter holidays
• May be required to float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs
• Uses Epic EMR

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Pediatric cardiac experience a plus
• BSN preferred

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients including respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, neurologic, and gastrointestinal care
• Skills may include ventilator management, arterial line management, CRRT, EVD care, and administration of emergency medications
• Floating required within scope of practice as needed by the facility
• Previous UVA Health employees must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning as a traveler
• External travelers may not exceed 365 total assignment days at the facility
• Maximum of 40 hours RTO per contract, with no time off approved during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
