. Albemarle Estate at Trump Winery and surrounding properties is hiring a Gardener to join our growing team. The individual who assumes this position will complete a variety of tasks relating to all things horticulture. Since there is guest interaction, the individual in this role will need to exhibit adequate communication skills, and will always be expected to project a professional attitude.

Given the nature of the position, work days/schedules may flex due to weather or other conditions, and may include weekends or overtime as needed. There is no centralized work site, so adequate transportation to various locations throughout 1200+ acre estate is required. Trump Winery in Charlottesville, VA - 15 minutes south of Charlottesville city limits 20 minutes north of Scottsville.

$18/hr to $21/hr - based on experience + excellent benefits

Full-time - Monday thru Friday

• Complete tasks including but not limited to: weeding, watering, planting, sweeping, raking, snow removal, composting, edging,, pruning, transplanting, shrub bed renewal/installation/repair, mulching, seeding, exterior/interior plant care, propagation of plant material
• Minimize and prevent deterioration of equipment, landscaped grounds, and infrastructure
• Provide assistance as needed completing and collaborating on projects/tasks
• Maintain greenhouses for vegetable gardening, perennial, and annual production

• Strong working knowledge of a variety of plants, plant materials, and grounds maintenance is a must
• Degree in horticulture, or demonstrable experience in horticultural management, or trade certifications or work equivalent in related field
• Must work well in an environment of changing priorities, be a quick learner, ability to multi-task, maintain a professional demeanor under pressure, ability to solve problems in a creative manner
• Physically able to bend over, kneel, or stand for extended periods of time, lift, push, pull objects of up to 70 pounds in weight
• Ability to work in all types of weather, from heat to wind to wet and cold
• Must be a self-motivated, dedicated employee who has the ability to set priorities, work independently, follow directives with minimal supervision, is team-oriented, flexible, and hard working
• Customer oriented, prompt, and friendly
• Experience in the operation of basic landscaping tools and small machinery
