The Department of Surgery at the University of Virginia School of Medicine seeks a Laboratory Specialist or Senior Laboratory Specialist to work in the lab of Dr. Jianjie Ma. Level will be determined by qualifications.

• Designing research methodologies
• Managing research projects
• Developing and administering budgets and schedules
• Following established quality standards
• Analyzing data and performance metrics
• Ensure that standard operating procedures and protocols are maintained and applied
• Other duties as assigned

This position can spend extensive periods of time standing and squatting while conducting experiments or caring for animals. Also requires keyboarding and other bench work and animal procedures requiring finer finger manipulation.

Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

This is a restricted position, which is dependent on funding and is contingent upon funding availability.

This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on-site.
