The Department of Chemistry at the University of Virginia (UVA) invites applications for Postdoctoral Research in Organic Chemistry under the direction of Prof. Eva Maria Alvarez Pari ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).).
Qualification RequirementsA PhD in chemistry (organic, inorganic or organometallic) is a mandatory requirement by the appointment start date. Preferred qualifications include expertise in synthetic photochemistry, spectroscopic tools (e.g., NMR, IR, UV-Vis) as well as experience in the synthesis of sensitive organometallic compounds using Schlenk techniques. The candidate must have a strong theoretical background, experience working in organic synthesis, main group chemistry and knowledge of computational chemistry (DFT).
A record of high-quality research as demonstrated by scientific publications in peer‑reviewed journals will be highly valued. The successful candidate(s) will be expected to be creative, capable of working independently, be a team player and help mentor undergraduates and graduate students in the laboratory.
