Overview
Dr. Tsai-Yi Lu’s laboratory at the Department of Neuroscience is seeking an experienced postdoctoral scholar to support research projects studying the homeostasis of oligodendrocyte lineage cells in brain health and disease.
Responsibilities- Conduct independent research to understand the molecular mechanisms behind metabolically driven oligodendrogenesis.
- Assist with lab mouse colony maintenance and training personnel.
- Prepare manuscripts presenting original research results for peer review.
- Communicate with collaborators to complete designated research projects.
- Full‑time research or scholarship at the University; preparation for a full‑time academic or research career; supervision by a senior scholar allowing publication of results.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Doctoral degree.
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job occasionally requires traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
Position Type & Work Location- This is an exempt‑level, benefited position.
- This is a restricted position, dependent on funding and contingent upon funding availability.
- This position is based in Charlottesville, VA, and must be performed fully on‑site.
