Overview

Lab and Research Technician – University of Virginia

Responsibilities
  • Assist in characterization of mouse models of chemotherapy‑induced peripheral neuropathy
  • Perform behavioral testing, drug administration (tail vein injection, oral gavage, intraperitoneal injection), tissue dissection, routine genotyping and crosses
  • Conduct immunohistochemistry and primary cell culture
  • Provide routine, technical, and administrative support for research projects
Qualifications
  • Strong interest in translational research within neurology
  • Prior experience in experimental design, data assessment/interpretation, scientific presentation, and scholarly writing
  • Associate's degree required (may accept equivalent combination of experience, education, certification)
  • 2+ years of laboratory experience (may include student experience)
Physical Demands

This position can spend extensive periods of time standing and squatting while conducting experiments or caring for animals. Requires keyboarding and finer finger manipulation for bench work and animal procedures.

  • Based in Charlottesville, VA – full‑time, on‑site
