OverviewAll Lowe’s associates deliver quality customer service while maintaining a clean, safe and stocked store. As a Sales Floor Department Supervisor, your role involves leading and enabling the team to provide the best possible customer experience.
What You Will Do- Provide resources and tools to support associates in delivering excellent customer service.
- Assist with down‑stocking, area recovery, and contribute input into merchandising decisions.
- Monitor use of store power equipment and coach employees on safe behaviors and lifting techniques.
- Coach and train associates, delegate and follow up on daily tasks, manage performance, and ensure adequate department coverage.
- Handle customer-facing activities (greeting, clarifying needs, closing sales) and non‑customer-facing activities (inventory management, area recovery).
- Conduct safety walks, report hazards, and ensure compliance with safety and lifting directions.
- Supervise associates in other departments as needed and communicate with leadership about concerns and morale.
- Occasionally open or close the store or serve as manager‑on‑duty (MOD).
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of experience in a retail environment, or 5 years of retail experience.
- 1 year of customer service experience.
- 1 year of experience supporting the unique needs of Pro customers (for Pro Department Supervisor).
- Experience providing direction or supervision to teams (direct report or not).
- Experience in training, mentoring and developing associates.
- Experience working cross‑functionally.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to obtain sales‑related licensure or registration as required by law.
- 3 years of retail customer service experience.
- 3 years of experience supporting Pro customers.
- Direct report responsibility in a leadership role.
- Experience in the home improvement retail sector.
- Experience in a fast‑paced, dynamic retail environment.
- Experience in a key carrying role with manager‑on‑duty responsibilities.
- Experience using store computer systems (Project Tool, Genesis, Sterling, M2O, Thin Client, etc.).
- Full‑time, hourly positions typically scheduled 39‑40 hours per week.
- Availability morning, afternoon and evening any day of the week.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that require prolonged standing, sitting, lifting 25+ lbs.
- Travel may be required occasionally for meetings and training.
