The primary responsibility of the Technology Representative (TR) is to support, assist, and contribute to the predetermined sales goals and quotas within the assigned team’s territory. The TR must be knowledgeable in Arthrex’s extensive product offerings, including but not limited to techniques, features, benefits, and value proposition. This is a sales role that requires travel between the office and various customer locations in Charlottesville and the surrounding region.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with direct and indirect customers to grow and develop business within the assigned territory
  • Promote and sell medical products, devices, or supplies to achieve sales targets
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to explain features, benefits, and usage
  • Assist in covering surgical cases in assigned territory
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and new product developments
  • Manage a designated sales territory, including scheduling, and attending client meetings
  • Provide after-sales support, addressing client inquiries and resolving product issues
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of our products in the operating room by providing clinical and educational value
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and orders
  • Pick up, transport, deliver and maintain supplies and inventory required for demos, sales and cases
  • Complete calls, customer visits, appointments as efforts to make sales and meet/exceed quotas
  • Respond promptly to all chatters, emails, calls and other essential communications
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, company policies, ethical sales practices and credentialing requirements
  • Travel to and arrive early as needed to job sites, meetings, appointments, surgeries and training events

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy and pathology
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation
  • Adaptability and critical thinking skills
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to provide action-oriented solutions
  • Embody and demonstrate a competitive spirit
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Resilience and adaptability in a competitive sales environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and smart phone technology
Work Environment

The TR will spend a lot of time travelling to meetings, hospitals and practices to meet with potential customers and to surgeries. Instead of sitting behind a desk, the TR will be constantly interacting, problem solving and adapting to the needs of healthcare providers and the business.

Physical Requirements
  • Sitting for long periods – TRs spend a lot of time driving between hospitals, clinics, and meetings; periodic airline travel is required.
  • Standing for long periods – TRs will often be present in operating rooms or product demonstrations where they need to stand, observe, and engage with medical professionals.
  • Lifting & carrying – Medical devices can range from small tools to heavy equipment, requiring TRs to transport and set up displays or training materials (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Walking between locations – In large hospitals or medical facilities, TRs may need to walk extensively to visit different departments.
  • Dexterity & fine motor skills – Setting up and demonstrating equipment may require precise handling and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
