The ideal candidate will be joining an exciting and growing team of electricians, HVAC techs, and controls techs for our numerous projects in the Building Automation field across the University of Virginia grounds. The BAS team currently works on new construction projects and controls installations and retrofit projects. The candidate should be able to read and process blueprints and be able to follow them for correct installation locations.

The incumbent should be a team player who can work independently, as well as on a crew, and is comfortable working in an occupied environment. This individual will work on a variety of projects and will perform a wide variety of skilled installations and replacement of control valves for the Building Automation team. The candidate must be comfortable with the removal of existing control valves and the proper installation of new control valves.

The ideal candidate must have an interest in learning about the controls trade, helping with pulling and landing small voltage wires, and with the termination of wires on the new control valves. Ideal Candidate will be responsible for ensuring that proper trade methods, techniques, and materials are followed when working with pipes and fittings. This role would be starting out with a focus on the installation of control valves but also could be a step into learning the controls trade and moving into a role on the BAS team as a controls installer with lots of upward growth.
