1,500 SIGN ON BONUS FOR NON CDL OPERATORS
Jaunt, Inc. is hiring full‑time Non‑CDL Bus Operators. While a CDL is not required at hire, all operators must obtain a CDL within six months of employment.
Operators will be responsible for operating transit service vehicles—including transit vans and up to 28‑passenger buses—in Charlottesville, VA and surrounding counties. They must ensure the safety of passengers, conduct routine vehicle inspections, communicate with dispatch and supervisors, and provide outstanding customer service while working independently.
Responsibilities- Operate a transit vehicle to pick up, transport, and discharge passengers while adhering to route schedules.
- Maintain a pleasant and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections for mechanical problems.
- Maintain radio contact with dispatchers to report breakdowns, accidents, or interruptions in service.
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain a professional appearance and observe the operator dress code (safety vest, Jaunt shirt).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- A valid Virginia driver’s license with a positive point balance.
- Ability to operate a vehicle under the safest possible conditions.
- Ability to successfully complete the operator 4‑week training course.
- Ability to use good judgment and common sense to make quick, safe decisions with minimal supervision and adapt to constantly changing operating conditions.
- Ability to listen, understand, and carry out verbal or electronic instructions from dispatchers or road supervisors.
- $500 once training is completed.
- $500 6 months after hire.
- $500 after 1 year of successful employment.
Employment is contingent upon successfully completing and passing a pre‑employment drug screen. A clean driving record that allows coverage by Jaunt’s insurance is required, and ongoing compliance with the Substance Abuse Policy and a clean driving record is essential for continued employment.
