We are a proud member of The AC Group of Independent Accounting Firms Limited - an alliance of independent CPA firms in Atlantic Canada with a mandate to provide added support through a strong regional network.
RoleWe are currently recruiting for a Tax Manager to join our diverse team of professionals. In this role, the Tax Manager will work closely with our Tax Partner, and will be responsible for overseeing tax compliance, planning and reporting, while ensuring our clients adhere to tax laws and minimize liabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation of corporate reorganizations and tax planning;
- Assisting with succession planning;
- Assisting with tax audits, reviews, assessments, voluntary disclosures and notices of objections;
- Navigating tax inquiries and required research;
- Managing complex tax matters – tax compliance, Trust returns, personal and corporate tax returns;
- Supporting the Tax Partner and firm staff regarding tax matters.
Skills and Abilities
- CPA designation or similar relevant designation;
- Successful completion of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Course with 3 – 5 years of full-time tax experience;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and within a confidential work environment;
- Self-motivated using a thorough and methodical approach on projects;
- Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects in a timely manner;
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
- Critical thinking skills using logic and reasonability to identify alternative solutions, conclusions and best practices; and
- Excellent computer skills using various accounting programs, i.e., Case Ware, Tax Prep, Sage, Quickbooks and MS Office products.
- Additional hours will be required to meet client and industry deadlines
- Local travel as needed
The successful candidate might anticipate $100,000 - $130,000 per annum, based on education, skills and qualifications.
