The RoleWe are seeking a Senior Accountant who is motivated to advance into leadership. This role goes beyond typical accounting duties, offering exposure to financial reporting, inventory and cost accounting, and process improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional to make an impact in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily and monthly accounting functions, including general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
- Take ownership of assigned portions of the month‑end close and support consolidated reporting.
- Assist in preparing GAAP‑compliant financial statements, variance analysis, and management reporting.
- Manage inventory reconciliations, cost tracking, and COGS analysis, collaborating with operations to resolve discrepancies.
- Strengthen internal controls across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory, and tax compliance.
- Act as a key user for ERP/accounting systems, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency.
- Provide mentorship to junior accounting staff while taking on projects that expand into Assistant Controller‑level responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; background in distribution, manufacturing, or logistics preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and month‑end close.
- Advanced Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables, nested formulas); ERP experience a plus.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally.
