WILMAC Construction is a trusted construction company known for exceptional workmanship, competitive pricing, and high-quality results. Since its founding, the company has focused on building and maintaining a strong reputation as a leader in the Prince Edward Island construction industry. WILMAC Construction delivers projects across commercial, residential, and industrial sectors, WILMAC Construction is seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Project Manager to join our growing team.
We are a general contractor specializing in commercial and industrial construction, and we need someone who can take full ownership of their projects from pre-construction through closeout.
This position is best suited to someone who has worked within a smaller or growing construction company, where Project Managers are actively involved in the day-to-day details of their projects. Our Project Coordinators, site supervisors and administrative team provide support, but the Project Manager remains accountable for moving the project forward, protecting the budget and ensuring commitments are met.
The successful candidate will manage multiple concurrent projects—potentially up to six—with individual project values ranging up to $50 million.
Key Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain and actively manage detailed construction schedules
- Monitor project budgets, committed costs, forecasts, cash flow and overall profitability
- Prepare and maintain schedules of values (SOVs) and progress billings
- Review project financial reports and identify cost concerns before they affect the project
- Prepare, price, track and negotiate change orders
- Prepare, issue and manage requests for information (RFIs)
- Coordinate, review and track shop drawings and submittals
- Manage subcontractor procurement, scopes, contracts, performance and compliance
- Coordinate the work of subcontractors, suppliers, site supervisors and WILMAC’s internal project team
- Lead project meetings and maintain clear, timely communication with owners, consultants and trade partners
- Work closely with site supervisors to resolve construction issues and keep projects on schedule
- Review drawings, specifications and contract requirements
- Manage project documentation and ensure records are complete, accurate and current
- Identify project risks and take proactive steps to protect the schedule, budget and contractual position
- Oversee deficiency completion, commissioning, turnover documentation and project closeout
What We Are Looking For
- Proven experience managing commercial or industrial construction projects for a general contractor
- Experience working in a smaller or mid-sized construction company where the Project Manager directly handles the full scope of project management duties
- Demonstrated ability to manage several active projects and competing priorities
- Strong construction financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, progress billing and SOV preparation
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, drawings, specifications and project documentation
- Hands-on experience managing schedules, subcontractors, change orders, RFIs and submittals
- Ability to lead both office and field teams while maintaining clear accountability
- Strong organization, follow-through and attention to detail
- Ability to identify issues early, make decisions and drive matters through to resolution
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook and Project or comparable scheduling software
- Experience with Premier Construction Software and RForm is a significant asset
The Right Fit
We are looking for a Project Manager who takes ownership. The right person does not wait for the Project Coordinator or site supervisor to manage the project on their behalf. They remain closely involved, know where their projects stand financially and operationally, follow up consistently and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
You will be successful in this role if you are resourceful, accountable, financially diligent and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.
