The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) is seeking applications for an Educational Technologist to support teaching and learning within the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program.
Reporting to the Associate Dean, Academic and Student Affairs, the Educational Technologist will work closely with faculty, staff, and campus partners to support the effective use of educational technologies in teaching, assessment, and curriculum delivery across preclinical, clinical, and experiential learning environments. This role focuses on practical, pedagogically sound approaches to integrating technology in ways that enhance the student learning experience.

Reporting to the Associate Dean, Academic and Student Affairs, the Educational Technologist will:
- Assess educational technology needs within the DVM program through consultation with faculty, staff, and students
- Analyze current teaching, learning, and assessment practices to identify opportunities for effective use of educational technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI).
- Advise and support faculty in the use of approved educational technologies including AI for course design, delivery, and assessment
- Support curriculum renewal initiatives by identifying practical opportunities to enhance learning through technology across classroom, clinical, and experiential settings
- Provide ongoing consultation and support to faculty implementing educational technologies in their teaching
- Collaborate with the Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC) to align pedagogical approaches with appropriate technology solutions
- Contribute to the evaluation, selection, and implementation of educational technologies relevant to veterinary education
- Work with IT Shared Services (ITSS) and other campus partners to support accessible, effective, and secure use of educational technologies
- Contribute to educational technology planning within the DVM program
- Identify barriers to technology adoption and support practical solutions
- Evaluate the effectiveness of educational technologies in supporting teaching and learning outcomes
- Other duties as required
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent degree in education, educational technology, instructional design, or a related field
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience supporting teaching and learning with educational technologies
- Strong understanding of pedagogical principles and their application in higher education or professional programs
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with individuals with varying levels of technical experience
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Master’s degree in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience advising or supporting educators in the integration of technology into teaching and assessment
- Familiarity with learning management systems, lecture capture tools, and other educational technology platforms
