The Department of Political Science at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications for a sessional instructor to teach in the Fall 2026 semester. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Please note:

the course offered below will be taught in person.

It has been timetabled for Thursdays, 5:30-8:15 PM.

POLS-2110 Law, Pol, Judicial Process I (3 Credits)

This course is designed to acquaint interested students with the nature of law. It has a Canadian focus with special reference to Prince Edward Island. The areas covered in this semester include sources of law, interests protected by the law, and fundamental legal and political concepts. Major areas of concentration are constitutional and civil law.

Qualifications
  • Successful applicants will have at a minimum a Master’s degree in Political Science or the equivalent in a cognate discipline such as Law. Real-world experience in the practice of law would be considered an asset.
  • Members of the Department of Political Science’s Sessional Roster or those who have taught the course before will be given priority in consideration for this position.
