UPEI is seeking Sessional Instructors for the Fall 2026 semester within the Faculty of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research and Applied Studies (IKERAS). These positions, subject to budget approval, involve teaching courses on Indigenous peoples of Canada and their treaties. Engaging students in Indigenous worldviews and addressing Canada’s history are central to this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach courses focused on Indigenous traditions and histories
• Develop curricula rooted in Indigenous knowledge
• Facilitate in-person classroom discussions
• Promote understanding of Truth and Reconciliation initiatives
• Provide guidance on Indigenous cultural protocols
Requirements:
• Qualifications in Indigenous studies or related field
• Previous teaching experience in higher education
• Commitment to Indigenous perspectives in education
• Strong communication and engagement skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with Indigenous communities
Contribute to UPEI's mission in promoting Indigenous knowledge and education this Fall 2026.
