The Department of Biomedical Sciences is seeking a sessional instructor to deliver the following course to second-year veterinary students during the Fall 2026 semester. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Please note:

the courses offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.

VBS 2130 – Veterinary Pharmacology

This course provides veterinary students with a basic understanding of the principles of pharmacology, including pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, and drugs affecting the autonomic, gastrointestinal, and cardiac systems. Material is covered in both lecture and tutorial formats.

Responsibilities for this position include course co-ordination, preparation and delivery of lecture material and clinical tutorial discussions, preparation and marking of examinations as appropriate, and assisting students where needed.

Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a DVM or other health professional degree and/or a graduate degree
(minimum M.Sc; PhD preferred in Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field).

Preference will be given to those with teaching experience in Pharmacology, but those with evidence of effective teaching in related fields will also be considered.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster for the Department of Biomedical Sciences and full-time and term contract Faculty Members of the Academic unit.
