, has openings for sessional instructors for the Winter 2027 semester for the following course:

ENGN-2360 Materials/Mech/Manufacturing

This course advances the fundamental knowledge of materials science to focus on materials processing and industrial manufacturing techniques for metals, ceramics, polymers, and composites. Knowledge of heat treatment and various metallurgical processes, as well as cold-working, subtractive and additive manufacturing, corrosion and fatigue, will be linked to an evaluation of materials properties, materials performance and mechanical behavior, and microstructure. Students will apply the materials life cycle and use various tools to assess quality and integrity to predefined specifications and tolerances.

The materials phenomena and manufacturing techniques discussed in lecture will be demonstrated through experiential labs.

Three lecture hours and three lab hours per week.

This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must possess, at a minimum, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline. A Master's degree in a related engineering field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience, will be considered a strong asset.

Applicants must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with Engineers PEI.
