Job Brief

PEI IT Alliance is looking for an experienced bookkeeper that is well-suited to a detail-oriented professional who enjoys clear scope, strong processes, and supporting a growing nonprofit organization.

Responsibilities Core Bookkeeping & Financial Administration

Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoices, reimbursements, and deposits.

Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements monthly.

Maintain organized digital records to support audit readiness and year-end reporting.

Track subscriptions, recurring payments, and vendor files.

Process bi-weekly payroll.

Prepare and submit CRA remittances and statutory deductions.

Maintain payroll records and support year-end documentation for external accountants.

Grant & Project Financial Support

Prepare supporting financial documentation for grant claims and project reporting, based on direction from the Executive Director.

Track restricted funding against eligible expenses.

Maintain clean, auditable records for funder and government programs.

Qualifications

5+ years of bookkeeping or financial administration experience.

Strong proficiency with Quick Books or similar accounting software.

Solid understanding of reconciliations, AP/AR, and payroll processes.

Experience with CRA remittances and vendor payments.

Experience working with nonprofits or grant-funded organizations is an asset.

High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.

Comfortable working independently within a clearly defined scope.

Education: Post-secondary with major in Accounting/Finance.

Job Type: Part-time, temporary

Work Location: Charlottetown, PEI (in-person)

Wage: $35,000 - $40,000 CAD anually (Commensurate with experience)

Term: 6 Months, with possibility of renewal
