Residential Support Worker
- Casual Relief
Queens County Residential Services is a non‑profit organization that provides residential care and support for adults with intellectual disabilities. We are currently hiring casual staff to assist clients with daily living and the development of life skills in a caring and nurturing environment.
Supplement your income by working flexible hours, including a mix of days, evenings, weekends, and overnights, with scheduling determined by a combination of your availability and the needs of our homes. Availability to work a range of shifts, including day shifts, is considered a strong asset.
Responsibilities- Provide compassionate care and support to residents in a residential setting.
- Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation and personal hygiene.
- Support clients in building independence and life skills.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor residents’ health conditions.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, ensuring their comfort and well‑being.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop and implement care plans.
- Utilize First Aid and NVCI techniques as needed to ensure the safety of residents.
- Post‑secondary training in Human Services, Youth Care Worker, Resident Care Worker (RCW), Personal Care Worker, Nursing, Social Services, or a related program.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience in Human Services will be considered.
First Aid, Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI), and Transfer, Lift and Reposition (TLR) training are assets.
- Must be a resident of Prince Edward Island.
- Must provide a valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search prior to hire.
- A valid, full Class 5 driver’s license (applicants with a graduated or learner’s license will not be considered).
- A reliable personal vehicle, insured for work purposes, and a willingness to transport clients (mileage reimbursement will apply).
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts (including daytime hours, evenings, nights, weekends, and overnights) is considered a strong asset.
