Position Overview
We are building a state‑of‑the‑art internal developer platform to accelerate solution delivery. As a Senior Engineer on the Engineering Platforms team, you will design, develop, and support enterprise‑grade services and tools that improve developer experience and platform efficiency.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise services using Java and object‑oriented programming principles.
- Contribute to the evolution of the internal developer platform, focusing on usability, automation, and self‑service capabilities.
- Demonstrate technical leadership, driving engineering initiatives, making informed decisions, and setting a high bar for execution excellence across teams.
- Lead by example in applying best practices, mentoring peers, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Influence architectural direction and platform strategy through deep expertise and thoughtful collaboration.
- Take ownership of complex problems and deliver scalable, maintainable solutions that align with enterprise goals.
- Balance innovation with discipline, ensuring foundational work is completed with rigor while remaining open to exploring new and exciting technologies.
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines and Dev Sec Ops practices using tools such as Git, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, and Sonar Qube.
- Support and integrate platforms including Artifactory, Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket), Sonar Qube, API Management platforms (Anypoint, Apigee, Boomi, Kong), Power Platform, Git Hub Copilot and other AI‑assisted development tools.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and support teams across a global organization.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos.
- Advocate for reusable patterns and enterprise architecture maturity.
- Engage in hands‑on development, including peer programming and code reviews.
- Support the services you create and champion automation and self‑service engineering practices.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation and perform related duties to ensure platform stability and timely issue resolution.
- At least 6+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java and object‑oriented programming.
- Expert understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong proficiency working in agile development teams.
- Strong proficiency developing with CI/CD tools and practices.
- Expert in microservices architecture and cloud‑native development.
- Willingness to explore and contribute to new initiatives while maintaining accountability for foundational engineering work.
- Experience with cloud‑based platforms (Snowflake and AWS preferred).
- Exposure to testing and automation tools (JUnit, Selenium, JMeter).
- Experience with developer experience tools and frameworks.
- Self‑motivated team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Open‑minded, flexible, and willing to listen for others’ opinions.
- Strong organizational skills and detail orientation.
- Ability to react positively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
The salary range for this position in Charlottetown is $70,000 – $80,000 per year. The total compensation offered includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience and location. This is a full‑time, exempt employee position.
