Fulltime Shift Monday-Friday 4:30am-1:00pm with every other weekend and rotating holidays. Pay Range: $17.50-$19.75 with mileage pay.

ROLE

The Mobile Phlebotomist, under the general supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, provides clinical pre‑analytical laboratory services to clients/patients in a mobile setting. They are responsible for completing assigned routes safely and timely, and must follow all policies and procedures.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Drive vehicle to client facilities, typically nursing homes, as directed by the dispatcher.
  • Unload phlebotomy tray and take it to the patient’s bedside to collect samples ordered by physician.
  • Accurately identify patient before collecting specimens.
  • Accurately collect, label, process, and deliver specimens obtained from patients.
  • Reload equipment and all necessary specimens to the vehicle for prompt delivery.
  • Regularly communicate with dispatcher to report status and location.
  • Strictly adhere to Universal Precautions for blood‑borne pathogens and infectious disease exposure.
  • Maintain required certifications, health requirements, and operational qualifications.
  • Keep work area clean.
  • Follow all required safety precautions at all times.
  • Report unsafe conditions and all complaints/problems encountered.
  • Monitor supplies inventory; report low stock or out‑of‑stock situations.
  • Identify and segregate any expired supplies.
  • Report to work promptly, properly groomed, and wear the proper identification when visiting a facility.
  • Maintain accurate time records of hours worked and submit to company as directed.
  • Manage assigned shift to include meal breaks.
  • Follow all specimen preservation, patient preparation, and specimen management procedures as written.
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Excellent communication and interaction skills with pediatric and geriatric communities.
  • Treat customers and patients with respect, dignity, and discretion; acknowledge residents’ rights and patients’ right to refuse.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance.
  • Current, valid State phlebotomy license (if required).
  • Current, valid State Driver’s license; car insurance; good driving record; possess a vehicle in good working condition suitable for daily driving requirements.
  • Proficient in venipuncture and skin puncture using both vacutainer and syringe techniques.
  • Knowledge of laboratory operations.
  • Maintain sterile, sanitary conditions to prevent contamination.
