The Quality Engineer will be responsible for tasks relating to product quality and all aspects of the Quality Management System. This role also serves as a key point of contact for suppliers and customers on quality-related matters, manages quality processes including audits, corrective actions, and regulatory compliance, and handles external inquiries and quality documentation requests. This position requires strong communication skills to build collaborative relationships externally and internally, and involves tasks ranging from daily tooling and part inspections to leading corrective actions and driving process improvements.

Major

areas of accountability
  • Lead root cause analysis, investigation, and prevention of product and process nonconformities; implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, customer-specific clauses, and applicable regulations (e.g., REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals, Cal Prop 65) through documentation control, audits and quality assurance processes
  • Develop, maintain and update quality procedures, work instructions and assurance documentation
  • Provide training and coordinate internal audits for production personnel
  • Perform in-process and final inspections, including sampling and use of inspection equipment, to verify conformity to customer specifications and associated documentation
  • Communicate with suppliers and customers regarding quality issues, corrective actions and compliance requirements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to maintain AS9100 certification and enhance process effectiveness
  • Provide data analysis and collaborate with Engineering to validate process capability and support risk-based decision-making
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or needed

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant field
  • One to three years of related experience
Minimum Qualifications
  • Proven background in quality management systems and processes, including Supplier Corrective Actions (SCAR), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and First Article Inspection (FAI)
  • Skilled in statistical analysis, problem solving, process improvement techniques, Corrective and Preventive Action, Quality Plans, PFMEA and manufacturing process validation
  • Competent in drafting standard operating procedures, work instructions, implementing new processes, and providing training for employees
  • Familiar with AS9100 standards and quality management systems
  • Capable of interpreting technical documents such as blueprints and assembly drawings
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and meticulous attention to detail
  • Committed to maintaining safety standards in design and operational practices
  • Adept at prioritizing tasks, adapting to changing requirements, and working independently
  • Efficient in meeting strict deadlines while managing multiple projects accurately
