Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for the production and development of quality radiographs, equipment maintenance and quality improvement/quality control according to established policies and procedures. May also perform lab functions as required.

Job Functions
  • Instructs patients regarding x-ray procedure.
  • Prepares room, equipment and material as needed for patient procedures.
  • Communicates with providers, patients and support staff as needed.
  • Organizes and maintains x-ray supplies and inventory.
  • Provides maintenance, QC and adjustments of radiology equipment.
  • Instructs other medical personnel in proper radiological techniques and the maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintains film filing system including reports and retrieval.
  • Maintains knowledge of current and new technology.
  • Oversee compliance programs and represents clinic Radiology department during surveys/audits.
  • May also perform lab duties as needed which may include but are not limited to venipuncture, collection of specimens through various routes.
  • Demonstrates room and equipment cleaning process between patients.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Education/Work Experience
    • Graduate of an approved school of radiology.
    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
    • Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
    • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
    • Knowledge of x-ray safety for patients and personnel
    • Knowledge of proper patient positioning and state radiology regulations
    • Skill in performing quality control and maintaining records
    • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and technique problems
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
    • Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
    • Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
    • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
    License/Certifications
    • AART Board registered
    Preferred Qualifications
    • EMR experience
    Compensation

    Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as: the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity. Pay listed does not include any shift, weekend, or other differentials.
