Job Purpose And Summary

Within our Retail locations, Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting pharmacy teams to deliver operational and service excellence. Technicians are often the first point of contact for patients and customers, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while delivering a caring service that exceeds expectations.

Technicians operate as part of the pharmacy team through consistent application of Standard Operating Procedures, best practices, and effective communication. They demonstrate genuine care, contribute to a safe and inclusive culture, and support the pharmacy’s mission to empower patients.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, offering immunizations and other services, and resolving patient problems.
  • Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stacks, and waiting bin inventories.
  • Engage in a high‑performing team mindset, seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge, and support continuous improvement.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntary travel to other market stores.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ethical principles; maintain patient privacy and segurança.
  • Deliver additional patient healthcare services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing) where allowed by law and supported by required training and certification.
Immunization Responsibilities (when permitted)
  • Obtain Technician Immunizer status by completing state Board of Pharmacy licensing and training requirements.
  • Educate patients about vaccine importance and refer vaccination questions to the pharmacist‑on‑duty.
  • Monitor and respond to adverse reactions; report events per public health requirements.
  • Collect and document patient information and track vaccine supplies.
Required Qualifications
  • Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements (age, education, licensure/certification).
  • Must be at least 16 years of age if no minimum age requirement is specified by the board.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high‑school equivalency program if no minimum education requirement is specified by the board.
  • State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1‑3 years of prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
  • Ability to work in the home store and travel across the market as needed.
Additional Information

Anticipated weekly hours: 40
Time type:
Full time
Pay range: $16.00 – $27.00 per hour (base). Actual salary will depend on experience, education, geography and other factors.
