Base pay range$24.34/hr - $35.62/hr

Purpose of JobThis position is responsible for performing a variety of patient care activities to assist providers and nursing personnel. Facilitates patient/physician/provider communication and coordination of care.
Job Functions- Escorts patients to examination room and obtains vitals and documents in EMR.
- Administers prescribed medications/vaccines and treatments in accordance with clinic policies and scope of certification/licensure.
- Prepares equipment and assists providers during examination, testing and treatment of patients.
- Performs room turnover in patient rooms between cases and at the end of day.
- Assists in maintaining stocked supplies and sterilizes instruments/exam rooms.
- Assists in arranging referrals/prior authorizations as necessary.
- Assists with patient education.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Graduation from Medical Assisting program or School of Practical Nursing
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
- Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
- Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work autonomously and as a team
- Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
- Current LPN Licensure or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (new grad's will have 1 year to become certified/licensed in order to maintain employment)
- Current CPR certification
- EMR Experience
