** Requirements for casual position at Ridgeview Chaska**:

To ensure that the staffing needs of the Clinics are met for all shifts as well as ensuring all staff maintains skill sets and competency, due to their intermittent work schedule. Casual staff must also remain familiar with Ridgeview Clinic and Allina Health policies and procedures.  
1. Casual staff is required to participate in all mandatory in-services and meetings as required by the department.  
2. Casual staff is expected to remain current and familiar with clinic policies and procedures via in-services and meetings, Ridgeview and Allina electronic communication, etc.  3. Casual staff is required to work a minimum of 32 hours in a quarter (i.e., a 3-month period) or 8 hours per month based on business need. Variation from this policy will be determined by the Supervisor of the Clinic on a case-by-case basis requests for extended, pre-approved time off by casual staff, such as scheduled vacations or FMLA.  

4. All casual staff is required to give availability notice prior to final schedule release (i.e., dates not able to work, dates wanting to work, etc.).

* Job Description:

** Provides support to providers and the nursing staff in the delivery of timely, quality patient health care services. Some duties include assisting with rooming patients, managing patient flow, administering medication, and communication with patients.  
** Principle Responsibilities
*** Rooms patients, manages patient flow and obtains adequate patient medical information/data.  + Collects and confirms pt information via interview, questionnaires, vital signs and accurately documents in EMR according to documentation standards.  + Assists patients, as necessary, to prepare for physician exam, including providing psycho-emotional support  + Assists with the collection, labeling, and processing of specimens.  + Facilitates obtaining lab/imaging results.  

+ Works with the electronic medical records in basket, responding to messages as delegated by RN or provider.  + May need to help cover front desk and provide backup to patient registration/scheduling.
* Performs patient care tasks as delegated by Provider or RN  + Performs injections.  + Assists with procedures.  + Supports patient care and reinforces patient information regarding tests, labs, procedure preparation, treatment plan, preventative or other health information.  + Coordinates results of tests, procedures etc. with provider or RN.  + May prepare refill information for provider to review and prescribe.  + May assist with patient transportation.
