Financial Assistance Supervisor — Health & Human Services
Join Carver County as a Financial Assistance Supervisor in the Health & Human Services division. Under the direction of the Health and Human Services Income Support Manager, you will lead and manage a unit of frontline workers who determine financial eligibility for public assistance cases.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise, monitor, train, and evaluate the performance of fraud investigation and eligibility workers.
- Hire, promote, or transfer staff; assign work, manage performance, and discipline as needed.
- Plan and oversee the delivery of Financial Assistance and Medical Assistance services in accordance with County plans, budgets, state, federal laws, and regulations.
- Participate in the administration and management of the Income Support Department within the Health and Human Services division.
- Conduct public relations activities and provide current information concerning public and medical assistance programs.
- Oversee and coordinate training of staff and others in the unit regarding changes and trends in the unit’s work.
- Conduct Fiscal and Program Reporting.
- Perform other duties of a comparable level or type.
- Can‑do attitude with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fastidious, and able to communicate accurately, timely, and with transparency.
- Strong compliance focus, ensuring adherence to County objectives, applicable statutes, mandates, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to work independently within the constructs of the role and collaborate effectively with a diverse workforce.
- Experience managing a workforce in a public‑sector or health‑human‑services environment preferred.
Work location:
Office at the Chaska Government Center and/or community sites. After successfully completing the twelve‑month probationary period, some flexibility to work remotely.
