Progressive Auto Group is a growing automotive organization committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences across our dealerships throughout Southwestern Ontario.
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and hands‑on Controller to support the accounting and financial operations of our Ford dealerships in Sarnia and Wallaceburg.
This role will work closely with dealership leadership and the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and operational accountability across both locations. The successful candidate will divide their time between the dealerships, working approximately 3 days per week in Wallaceburg and 2 days per week in Sarnia.

Key Responsibilities- Maintain and oversee dealership accounting activities and the general ledger
- Support timely month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review monthly OEM financial statements and internal reporting
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and financial analysis
- Ensure accounting processes and controls are followed accurately
- Oversee AP and AR functions, reconciliations, and reporting
- Ensure accurate processing of invoices, payments, and customer transactions
- Monitor receivables, vendor accounts, and cash flow activities
- Support collections and account resolution activities as required
- Manage EFTs, wire payments, and dealership banking activities
- Reconcile banking transactions and oversee cash controls
- Coordinate lien payouts and OEM-related financial transactions
- Work collaboratively with dealership leaders to support operational performance
- Ensure timely and accurate posting of dealership transactions
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Assist with process improvements and day-to-day accounting support
- Provide guidance and support to accounting team members as needed
- Accounting diploma or degree preferred
- 2–5 years of accounting experience preferred; automotive dealership experience considered an asset
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with dealership management systems considered an advantage
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Motivated to learn and grow within the organization
- Compensation Range: $60,000-$90,000 annually (based on experience)
