Forge Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Accounting Manager to join their finance team in Ontario.
Are you an experienced accounting professional ready to take on a hands-on leadership role? This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working across financial reporting, reconciliations, tax compliance, month-end close, internal controls, and team operations while partnering closely with senior leadership.
What You'll Be Responsible For- Oversee key accounting and finance functions
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Prepare and review financial reports, reconciliations, accruals, AP and AR
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Prepare and review U.S. sales tax reconciliations
- Oversee HST and government filings and remittances
- Support financial and tax audits
- Assist with consolidation and reporting for U.S.
-based operations - Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian and U.S. GAAP
- Strengthen internal controls and accounting processes
- Review and authorize payments in accordance with established procedures
- Support corporate tax, compliance, and legal entity requirements
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior leadership
- Help oversee the daily operations of the accounting department
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- Currently pursuing or working toward a Canadian CPA designation
- Strong financial reporting, reconciliation, and analytical skills
- Experience with U.S. sales tax and/or U.S.
-based entities is an asset - Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. GAAP
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP / Great Plains is strongly preferred
- Strong Excel skills — intermediate to advanced
- Excellent problem-solving and investigative abilities
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
