Chatham-Kent Water Treatment Operator

Join the Chatham-Kent PUC team as a Water Treatment Operator, ensuring the delivery of safe water services. This full-time position primarily focuses on operating and maintaining treatment systems.

In this permanent role, you will oversee the operations of water and wastewater treatment facilities. Key tasks include conducting regular inspections, performing sampling, and ensuring compliance with the Ministry of Environment standards. You will also maintain records and coordinate with compliance staff to manage lab and sampling schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and inspect water and wastewater treatment equipment

• Conduct routine laboratory tests and maintain analytical records

• Ensure compliance with quality management systems

• Monitor SCADA trends for facility performance

• Maintain chemical and lab supply inventories

Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school diploma or GED required

• Previous experience in water treatment preferred

• Knowledge of MECP regulations and occupational safety

• Valid class G Ontario driver’s license required

• Mechanical or electrical experience is an asset
