POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe medical receptionist will support the mission, vision and values of the CKCHC. Within a patient orientated team environment, the medical receptionist will provide reception, clerical and administration support for all services offered through the CKCHC.
- Perform reception and administrative duties; greeting clients in person and on the phone, photocopying, faxing and scanning documents into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
- Schedule clients, specialist and diagnostic testing appointments
- Prepare, maintain, update, retrieve, files charts manually and electronically
- Provide referral information for internal and/or external programs and services
- Ensure accurate tracking and logging of all client interventions, hours and appropriate reporting requirements
- Prepare referral and consultation letters as requested
- Maintain appointment scheduling templates and an up-to-date resource and referral directory
- Supervise graduate students in field placement practicum or internships, as requested
- Respect the cultural diversity of the client, community and CKCHC.
- 2-5 years of recent experience with preference to those who have worked in a community health setting
- Experience with reception responsibilities using a multi-phone system and EMR
- Exceptional customer service skills required to work with internal and external clients and community partners
- Strong communication and excellent interpersonal skills, combined good analytical, problem solving, organizational and administrative skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and work effectively in an interprofessional team environment
- Proficiency in the use of computers and EMR programs
- French and other language skills, an asset.
- Medical Secretary Diploma from a recognized institution
- As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccinations (2 doses required)
