Duties and responsibilities

The Robot Technician will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Program, troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize FANUC robotic welding systems and automated manufacturing equipment to support production requirements.
  • Configure, test, and maintain robotic systems, weld controllers, vision systems, tooling, fixtures, material handling equipment, and other automation-related equipment used in manufacturing operations.
  • Support the installation, commissioning, integration, and validation of robotic welding cells, automated production lines, and manufacturing systems for new and existing programs.
  • Perform robot mastering, TCP calibration, user frame setup, payload configuration, program backups, software updates, and system recoveries to ensure reliable equipment operation.
  • Program, troubleshoot, validate, and optimize robotic welding processes, welding parameters, weld controllers, and associated automation equipment to support production quality and efficiency requirements.
  • Diagnose and resolve robotic, mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues through systematic troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Configure and maintain communication between robots, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, weld controllers, and other industrial automation devices to ensure efficient operation of manufacturing systems.
  • Conduct testing, verification, and validation of robotic equipment, automation systems, and manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and production requirements.
  • Monitor robotic system performance, cycle times, equipment reliability, and process efficiency, implementing improvements to optimize productivity, quality, and equipment utilization.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities on robotic welding equipment, automated manufacturing systems, and related production equipment.
