Medway Council is seeking a dedicated Independent Reviewing Officer to join their team. The position involves chairing reviews for looked-after children and ensuring their care plans are effective. You will be responsible for monitoring local authority performance and advocating for children's voices in their plans. Your senior-level experience in Children's Social Care will be essential for holding services accountable.
Key Responsibilities:
• Chair reviews for looked-after children effectively
• Monitor local authority performance in child welfare
• Address issues of drift or delay impacting children
• Ensure children's voices are heard in their plans
• Build relationships with social workers and partner agencies
Requirements:
• Recognised Social Work qualification and registration
• Substantial post-qualifying experience in Children's Social Care
• Experience chairing reviews or readiness to take on that role
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Constructive challenge capability
