We’re recruiting dependable, organized individuals to deliver mail on an on‑call basis. Job Responsibilities- Sort, collect, and deliver mail items safely and timely.
- Acquire and maintain local infrastructure knowledge including roads, customers, and delivery receptacles.
- Ensure mail is safely secured during delivery.
- Process various CPC products and services (Change of Address Notification, Damaged Mail, Items Delivered Bill (IDB), etc.).
- Wear Canada Post identification while on delivery and ensure its visibility.
- Lift and carry items up to 50 lb (22.7 kg).
- Have experience making deliveries and operating a motor vehicle in all kinds of weather and traffic conditions.
- Pass a job interview.
- Have a satisfactory safe driving record.
- Possess a valid permanent provincial driver’s license – class 5 or G.
- Vehicle must have a minimum cargo capacity of 50 cu ft (1415 liters) and an automatic transmission.
- Vehicle must have power windows, a metal rooftop, and an accessory power outlet to accommodate a Canada Post sign and flashing light.
- Middle of passenger window sill must be between 38 in (96 cm) and 45 in (115 cm) from the ground and maximum interior width of 56 in (142 cm).
- Vehicle must have a fifth door or hatchback to allow for oversized and bulky items to be loaded (preferred).
- Provide and maintain required automobile liability insurance for the use of vehicle during employment at Canada Post.
- Notify insurance company of vehicle use while employed at Canada Post.
