French Speaking Financial Accountant

About Us Join a collaborative and professional Finance team as a French Speaking Financial Accountant. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented finance professional to oversee the administration and accounting of our French entities. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of management accounts, statutory reporting, tax coordination and day-to-day financial operations.

The Role As a French Speaking Financial Accountant, you will ensure the smooth running of accounting and administrative activities for the French entities. You will prepare management information, support statutory accounts and tax returns, coordinate accounting duties with the French team and maintain strong financial controls. The role also includes supervising finance colleagues and liaising with banks, accountants, payroll providers and other external partners.

Key Responsibilities Supervise members of the Finance team, including the Accounts Payable Clerk and Account Assistant/Management Accountant. Ensure management accounts are prepared on time and that variances are clearly explained. Approve bank transfers and liaise with banks when required. Complete weekly bank reconciliations for all accounts, including ad hoc bank transaction journals. Prepare monthly fund requests and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly or quarterly basis.

Assist the French Accountant with corporation tax returns and annual statutory accounts. Prepare annual budgets in line with departmental requirements. Maintain accurate employee and supplier contract records. Administer French payroll processes, including liaison with the payroll provider, monthly payslips, annual staff health insurance returns and social security rate updates. Oversee the administration of the French companies, including invoice payments, intercompany reconciliations and coordination with French accountants.

Maintain the confidentiality of financial information and comply with company policies and internal financial controls. What We're Looking For We are seeking a proactive and meticulous finance professional with:
Experience in a similar accounting or finance role, including knowledge of the French Chart of Accounts and French GAAP. Minimum education to A Level standard. Current study towards ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent qualification through experience. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel. Strong numerical accuracy and the ability to produce fiscal reports. Familiarity with financial systems, such as Workday Financials.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams. High levels of confidentiality, integrity, reliability and professionalism. Strong problem-solving, time management and attention-to-detail skills. Adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning and development.
