Children's Residential Support Worker

Position: Children's Residential Support Worker (Permanent)
We are currently recruiting for a Residential Support Worker on a temp-to-perm basis for a well-established therapeutic children’s home in Chatham, Kent.

This role offers the opportunity to work through the agency for 12 weeks, before moving onto a permanent contract with the service, allowing both you and the provider to ensure the role is the right long-term fit.
About the Service

* 8-bedded therapeutic children’s home

* Supports children aged 5–10 years with EBD and complex trauma

* Children typically remain in placement for 2–3 years, allowing for consistent, meaningful care

The Role

* 40 hours per week

* 2 long day shifts and 3 short day shifts per week

* Supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs in a therapeutic setting

* Working closely with a stable and supportive team

* Maintaining consistency, structure and positive routines
What We’re Looking For

* Reliable, resilient and committed individuals

* Must be a driver with full UK licence

* Open to candidates with experience in children’s or adult services
Pay & Benefits

* £12.50 per hour while working through the agency

* Permanent salary:

* £26,000 unqualified

* £29,000 qualified

* Fully funded Level 3 Children & Young People qualification

* Immediate enrolment onto NAPPI Level 3 (Challenging Behaviour) training

* Ongoing investment in staff development, including further education and apprenticeships

Life in the Home

* Daily enrichment activities for all children

* Group therapeutic games every weekday evening

* In-house tutor for children not currently in education

* Regular after-school clubs and activities (dance, karate, etc.)

* Annual summer camping trip and holiday activities

* Children are supported at all times in line with individual risk assessments and care plans
