Company Overview

Ganymede Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a leading Tier 1 Civil Engineering Contractor seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team on a major long-term water infrastructure framework.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of the UK's largest infrastructure investment programmes, delivering a diverse portfolio of projects across both clean and wastewater. With schemes typically ranging from £5m to £50m+, you'll gain exposure to complex, high-value projects while working within a supportive commercial team that genuinely invests in the development of its people.

The Role

Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll take commercial responsibility for a portfolio of works from procurement through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered successfully whilst maximising commercial performance.

Working closely with operational teams, clients and the wider commercial function, you'll manage contractual obligations, financial reporting, subcontractor accounts and change management across a range of infrastructure projects.

You'll also support the development of junior members of the commercial team, helping to build capability across the wider business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take commercial ownership of allocated infrastructure projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Administer NEC contracts, ensuring contractual obligations and commercial risks are effectively managed.
  • Prepare and manage CVRs, cost reporting, cash flow forecasts and financial reporting.
  • Manage subcontract procurement, contract administration and final accounts.
  • Assess, negotiate and agree compensation events and variations.
  • Monitor project costs, identifying opportunities to improve commercial performance.
  • Produce accurate valuations, applications for payment and commercial forecasts.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
  • Mentor and support Assistant and Quantity Surveyors
