Religious Studies Supply Teacher About the Role and Key Responsibilities

As a Religious Studies Supply Teacher working with Tailor

EDucation, you will play an important role in supporting pupils’ academic, moral, and social development. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking Religious Studies lessons, encouraging respectful discussion, critical thinking, and understanding of diverse beliefs and worldviews. You will create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel confident to explore ethical issues and express their ideas.

Flexibility, strong subject knowledge, and a passion for education are key to success in this role.

This is a long term supply position commencing in January 2026 on an on going basis, five days per week.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Experience teaching Religious Studies within a UK school setting
• Strong subject knowledge of major world religions, philosophies, and ethical issues
• The ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that promote discussion and critical thinking
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• A commitment to inclusion, tolerance, and respect for diverse beliefs
• Flexibility to adapt to different school environments and year groups
