We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and compassionate Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our supportive team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the education and wellbeing of our Year 4 pupils.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality learning experiences, support small groups of pupils, and provide tailored one-to-one support for a child with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver targeted interventions and learning activities to small groups of Year 4 pupils.
  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Work one-to-one with a pupil who experiences anxiety, autism, and sensory processing needs, adapting approaches to meet their individual requirements.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SEND team, and parents/carers to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
  • HLTA status or equivalent relevant experience.
  • A strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
  • Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and anxiety.
  • Knowledge of sensory needs and strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
  • A patient, flexible, and caring approach to supporting children.
